We have a rare opportunity for an experienced, commercially astute structural engineer to provide national oversight, strategic direction and technical leadership across our five offices throughout New Zealand. About the role

As our National Structural Manager, you will be responsible for leading coordination across offices to ensure alignment of technical delivery, innovation, and business outcomes. Driving the national performance and strategic direction of our discipline across all offices, overseeing national budgeting, capability planning, and operational improvements.

• Providing input on project delivery, client engagement, and business development to ensure profitability and growth.
• Collaborate closely with regional Structural Managers to align efforts, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure consistency and innovation in our structural approach.
• Coordinate national discipline-wide initiatives including budgeting, capability development, and operational efficiency.
• Provide high-level input into business development, project direction and client engagement strategy.
• Reporting directly to the CEO and contributing to senior business strategy.

About you

• Chartered Structural Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) with extensive consultancy experience, ideally across multiple sectors with solid technical understanding of seismic design.
• You thrive in leadership roles, understand the commercial realities of engineering consultancy, and bring strategic thinking alongside technical depth.
• Commercially minded with a clear understanding of project profitability, resourcing, and strategic oversight across multi-office environments.
• Strong track record in client relationship management, business growth, and project delivery.
• Passionate about fostering high-performance culture and innovation in engineering.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy for others, sociable and friendly, with a positive drive and resilience.
