We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Queenstown. If you enjoy developing geotechnical solutions in collaboration to the wider design team across multiple projects, working outdoors, and meeting new people then we would like to hear from you.
About the role
Working with our experienced Geotechnical team, you will undertake your own projects responsible for geotechnical engineering investigations, working in the field conducting testing, sampling, logging results for reporting, and conducting analysis. Scheduling projects and communicating with clients, as well as undertaking site observation/inspections of on-site works during construction.
You’ll be working with our dynamic team in Queenstown, but also with the wider business delivering high quality geotechnical engineering to a range of our clients nationally.

About you
- Tertiary qualification, Bachelor of Engineering – Civil or Environmental, Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology or Earth Sciences, or equivalent qualification
- 2 years’+ experience in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of NZ standards, building codes, statutory requirements, and the use of applicable software
- Basic knowledge of soil mechanics, slope stability, retaining wall, earthworks and geotechnical foundation engineering
- A high level of attention to detail with excellent planning and sound problem-solving skills you will take pride in producing quality documentation
- Thrive on a challenge and be motivated to provide innovative solutions for our clients
- Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people
